SAFETY PROGRAM
1. DRIVER SELECTION
The first, and most important aspect of safety is driver selection. We utilize
professional drivers that meet rigid hiring requirements. Among those requirements:
2 years of verifiable tractor/trailer experience, no serious moving violations in the past 5 years, and no preventable D.O.T.
recordable accidents in the past 5 years.
In addition to all of the D.O.T. compliance
activities and reference checking, we obtain copies of the State Motor Vehicle Records for each of our drivers. We utilize a personality profile test consisting of over 500 questions which indicate personality tendencies
and work abilities such as perception, mechanical interest, nervous tension, work habits, emotional maturity, stamina, honesty,
and other aspects related to safety.
2. FLEXWAY EQUIPMENT
Flexway utilizes new or late model equipment and all equipment regularly undergoes preventative maintenance and safety checks.
3. MANAGEMENT CONTACT WITH DRIVERS
The Director of Human Resources/Safety conducts quarterly safety seminars for all of our drivers and they earn safety bonuses
for driving without accidents or citations.
In all of our contacts with drivers,
we stress safety. Our commitment to public safety is never compromised.
4. APPEARANCE
All of our drivers are provided with uniforms which enhance their professional appearance. A
uniform does not directly make a safer driver; however, it helps focus the driver on the professional approach to duty
and team work.
