Flexway Trucking was started in 1983 as a dedicated trucking carrier operating primarily in the Midwest. Flexway has operated continually and successfully since that time.

      The owners, John and Laura McBride, have spent their adult lives working in the trucking industry in the St. Louis area. They are well known and respected in the industry and the community.

      John graduated from Washington University’s Business School and Laura graduated from St. Louis University’s Business School. They each graduated with Master’s Degrees in Applied Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. 

      For 11 years John was president of McBride’s Express, Inc., a trucking company that served the Missouri-Illinois area as a regional short-haul delivery company. For five years, he was also president of Chromalloy Trucking Co., a full-load trucking subsidiary of Chromalloy American. 

      John serves or has served as director or officer in various civic and industry organizations including: The American Trucking Association, The St. Louis Short Haul Trucking Association, Central Illinois Boy Scout Council, Young Presidents Organization, World Presidents Organization, the University of Santa Monica, and Traffic Insurance Company.

       Laura McBride has worked in the trucking industry for over forty years. She has been responsible for pricing, sales, traffic and various legal aspects of the industry. Laura worked for over twenty-five years in regional LTL trucking plus worked for a truckload and bulk commodities carrier prior to Flexway’s start. Laura has served as a representative on regional and national rate and tariff committees within the trucking industry. Laura is past president of the St. Louis Traffic Club and served as an officer for 5 years. She was an officer of Delta Nu Alpha for a number of years.
